Finding Klára book cover — a woman's profile against a Norwegian fjord at sunset, the name Clara crossed out and rewritten as Klára

Clara has the life she’s always thought she wanted.

A successful husband, two beautiful children. The perfect house, in the perfect country, with the best address. From the outside, everything looks ideal.

But on the inside, she’s disappearing.

Cut off from her language, her culture, and everyone who knew her before, Clara begins to feel that something is deeply wrong in her marriage.

After a rare glamorous night out, Clara finds herself questioned by police in the back of an ambulance. Confused, humiliated, and accused by her husband of being a danger to herself and their children, she can’t clearly remember what happened.

When institutions, friends — even her own memory — echo her husband’s version of events, Clara begins her own quest for answers.

Finding Klára is a novel that brings to light the slow, disorienting journey from doubt to clarity. It’s about the cost of not being believed and the radical courage it takes to reclaim your story and your name.
